Lil Wayne’s THA CARTER IV Breaks iTunes First-Week Album Sales

NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Lil Wayne remains unstoppable
with his hotly anticipated, critically-acclaimed new album for Cash Money
Records/Universal Republic Records, THA CARTER IV, breaking the iTunes
record for first-week U.S. album sales in only four days with over 300,000 units
sold. Lil Wayne breaks the record set only two weeks ago by Jay-Z and Kanye West’s
"Watch The Throne," and held by Coldplay before that.
THA CARTER IV became available on iTunes after Lil Wayne’s monumental
performance on the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday August 28th. After
going live the album quickly clinched the #1 spot on the iTunes top album chart
as well as the hip-hop chart, dethroning Jay-Z & Kanye West and Adele and
surpassing brand new releases from Red Hot Chili Peppers and David Guetta.
